SEM Books

SEM Books is a unique co-publication between the Society for Experimental Mechanics and Morgan & Claypool Publishers. We would like to invite you to showcase your work and contribute your expertise by writing a short book of 50-150 pages (tutorial, modular, textbook, survey, monograph, etc.) for the Synthesis/SEM Lectures on Experimental Mechanics series. If you are interested in joining this series, please contact the Executive Editor: Paul Petralia.

The topics for the series follow the technical divisions and the direction of the SEM including all other emerging areas of experimental mechanics such as Additive and Adaptive Manufacturing, Substructuring, etc.

Hole-Drilling Method Hole-Drilling Method
Gary S. Schajer, Philip S. Whitehead
This book describes the theory and practice of the Hole-Drilling Method for measuring residual stresses in engineering components. Such measurements are important because residual stresses have a "hidden" character because they exist locked-in within...
